New Forest Fruit

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque New Forest National Park is an innovative fruit farm called New Forest Fruit led by owner Sandy Booth, who has been in farming for over 30 years. Sandy’s absolute passion is innovation, which has enabled the business to achieve fantastic results while pushing farming to a whole new level. 

Protecting the environment & working as sustainably as possible is a key priority for the team at New Forest Fruit. There are many ways the business works sustainably, including an on-site solar farm providing a renewable energy source, on-site electric vehicles, wildlife corridors providing vital shelter for wildlife as well as wildflowers and over 3,000 apple and pear trees to promote and encourage the natural biosphere. 

However, with as much as 300 tonnes of unsold class 1 fruit potentially available annually and the reduction of food waste top of mind, Sandy knew that more could – and needed to – be done. 

And so, in 2023, the innovative pulse dried fruit snack was born!

The unique process of pulsing the fruit during the sorting stage allows the fruit to be freeze-dried and maintain its nutrition, shape, colour and aroma whilst removing over 90% of the weight and extending the shelf life significantly. The purpose-built facility allows the whole process to be carried out on site, from harvest to dispatch.
