Sponsors and Partners Toast Launch of Food Festival with Local Fizz
Last week Hampshire Fare hosted the official launch event for A Taste of Winchester and Winchester Food Festival. It took place at The Little Kitchen Bistro and was attended by sponsors Clarke & Sons, Lexus Hedge End and John D Wood. Event partners Winchester City Council and Winchester BID were also there along with some of the producers and chefs taking part in the events. The guests enjoyed canapes made by the Little Kitchen Company and delicious local sparkling wine Candover Brook, who will also be at the Winchester Food Festival on 14 July.
Since going live last week, many new events have been added to the A Taste of Winchester website. This is a week-long celebration of food and drink across the district running from Monday 8 July. There will be a diverse range of activities and offers for local and visiting foodies to enjoy.
Current offers include a wood fired tasting experience at Lainston House, afternoon tea at the Winchester Royal Hotel and a Tapas evening featuring local Hampshire produce with Spanish heritage with Two&One Olive Oil at The Myers Touch kitchen design studio in Kings Worthy.
Of the more unusual experiences on offer you could join an urban foraging workshop around the streets of Winchester with Experience Hampshire or Ale & Ammo, an entertaining talk on the weapons at The Royal Logistic Corps Museum in Worthy Down with ale supplied by Winchester’s Alfred’s Brewery. South Downs Sourdough have a workshop on making sourdough and you can even see inside the workings of a real chocolate factory at Chocolate Craft in Alresford. Keep an eye on the website as more events are being added daily.
